The North Face Dirty Feet Kal Park 50

This year our race will be The 2016 Canadian Long Distance Mountain Running Championships. This race is also part of the Canadian Skyrunning Series.

Ultra Run – an ultra run is 50km plus so this is the first of the Dirty Feet ultras in Vernon BC! – Registration will be limited to 300. Registration is now Full for the 8km Race with 200 racers. This run is located at Kalamalka Provincial Park and will be quite different to the half marathon course in July. The race will include an 8km, 25km and 50km. There will be a 25km loop that the 50km runner will do twice.

Prizing: This year, the North Face Dirty Feet Kal Park 50 is the 2016 Canadian Long Distance Mountain Running Championships. Prize money will be awarded to the top three finishers in the men’s and women’s 50km race ( $100 – 1st place, $50 – 2nd place, $25 – 3rd place). The 25km race and 8 km race will have prizes for top 3 from our Sponsors, The North Face, Starting Block or Stussi Sports.

Trails: The trails are fun and challenging and will be well marked with flags and arrows and at the finish there’s great food waiting for you – organic bananas and oranges, sweet and salty snacks and water and eload. There will be 2 feed zones out on course and one at the start/finish area.

Race Shirts: The North Face Technical race t’s are available upon on-line registration they are $15 – sizes and quantities are limited. Please Purchase your shirt at time of on line registration for best size selection. Shirts are $15 at time of registration. Any shirts not purchased will be $20 at the race.  Shirts can ONLY be purchased on line!

Check In: May 1st at 6am for 50km, 8am for 25km and 9:30am for 8km at start/finish area. Everyone must check in on race day.

Aid Stations and Time Cut offs for 50km:
1st Aid station – 12.5km
2nd Aid Station – 20.9km (approx)
3rd Aid Station – 25km – First time cut off at 5 hours
4th Aid Station – 37.5km – Second time cut off at 7.5 hours
5th Aid Station – 45.9km (approx)

Aid stations for 25km: 1st Aid Station – 12.5km, 2nd Aid Station – 20.9km

The Race will be in Kalamalka Provincial Park just outside of Vernon closer to Coldstream. The course map and profile are now posted. For 2016 there course will be the same as 2015 with the Stone Free trail being used instead of the HRT trail – map has now been changed.

Muscles need help before or during the race? We are excited to have Bluebird Sport and Spine from Vernon on site for some pre race muscle warm up or some post race muscle recovery if you are having any issues make sure to go visit them at the race or at their clinic for a tune up before the race! You can visit Dr. Laura or Dr. Steve at Bluebird Sport and Spine at 3016 29th Street in Vernon.

Race Start Times:

50km – 7 am

25km – 9 am

8 km – 10:30 am

Entry Fees: Entry does not include the on line processing fee.

50 km race early entry fee is $60 includes GST until April 25th.

25km race early entry fee is $50  includes GST until April 25th.

8km early entry fee is $35 includes GST April 25th.

The cost of this race will increase by $5 one week before the race starting on April 25th, 2016.

You must register before April 25th, 2016 to receive a race bag full of goodies!

Race Package Pick-up times:

Friday April 29th from 3-5pm and Saturday April 30th from 11-1pm in Vernon at Stussi Sports at 4823 Silver Star Rd.

For out of towners that cannot make these times you can pick them up on race day from 6am-6:45am for 50km start and 8am for 25km start and until an hour before your race starts.
