Here is updated 2013 Course Map. We had added more single track into the course and found a way to get you some spectacular views from the top of the mountain. Sun Peaks XC Marathon. Below we have also included a description using trail names if trail names apply. The course approximately 20 km long we have worked out a way to have the start finish area be within the Sun Peaks Village.
Start at in front of Masa’s Deck, Cross the road and across the covered bridge, Climb Access road to Home Run, Left on Home Run, Climb home run to cattle fencing. Left thru gate onto single track. Single Track to Holy Cow, Right on Holy Cow and climb to first major trail to the right. Turn Right and climb double track to Home run. Climb gravel road to Ski run Sticks, climb access road leading to the Top of Morriessey Chair. Leaving the top of the mountain take Holy Cow the course will head downhill to Cougar Crossing Trail. Down Cougar Crossing to the forestry Road. From the Forestry Road turn left follow forestry road to Morriesy Connector/Wolverine Trail. Left on Wolverine trail and follow trail to Holy Cow. Left on Holy Cow trail to Lynx Trail. Right on Lynx Trail. Right on Holy Cow, Left on Moose Tracks, Left on Dog Sled Trail (Mcgillivray-Lake Out Post Return), Left onto Vista Trail and return to Morrisey Express. Follow trail under the overpass and follow the pathways back towards the finish area at the base of the mountain.
